my website is based on LAMP (I do the perl stuff) but I need to justify why I think 2 servers are better than 1 - moving to n-tier(web server+db server is better than single server running those services), so does anyone know of anywhere in the internet I can get some info. to show the speed increase or decrease between the two options ? I realise it is highly subjective due to the nature of the apps running and hardware, but if there is a place that can state it works better by a factor of X, I would be in a better position now (than saying that, it is better, but I can't quantify it !) so frustrating. thanks, john
