While no doubt well meant, the subject of coding style has enough opinions that it is usually referred to as a 'religious war', comparable to one's choice of editor or operating system. Thus, in polite society (hopefully The Monastery is included in this definition), one usually soft-pedals any discussion of said 'delicate' subjects -- or even doesn't mention them at all.
To put it another way, there's no 'nice' way to discuss bracing style -- it's just a matter that we're going to have to agree to disagree on.
And that's really all I can say.
