I'm trying to write a very small gallery-type script that reads 1 directory and slurps in all gif/jpg files. From here it builds a dynamic output of all images at 100x100 pixels with 5 images per table row.

I can probably get all the images from using readdir() and resize using HTML, but how would you separate the images into separate lines of 5 images (or if the last set of images has less than 5, it ends the </tr>)?

Also, is there any way to resize images WITHOUT Image::Magic or the GD library?
