In What nodes should/should not be frontpaged? it is suggested that a node should be front paged it "asks a specific question but has received no replies. Frontpaging will make it more visible and may help it get answered". However this often is futile because such nodes are old (for some definition of old) and don't actually show on the front page or are soon bumped off.

Is it possible to queue the items on the front page in the order that they are posted there rather than (as seems to happen currently) in node creation order?
