I just got a new machine on which to do my work, so now I have a 2 GHz Intel box with 1 Gb RAM on which to play. I'd like advice from my fellow monks on suggested OS for this box which would facilitate hacking Perl, including installing latest, bleeding edge builds of things, multiple installed perl versions, Perl programming support, and general coolness. I'm not looking to start any flame wars here, but just want to know which of the plethora of Linuxes and Unices I should choose.
