It seems that the uc function doesn't return the uppercase version of certain French/Dutch/whatever characters.

Example:

print uc 'áàúùíìóòéèçäëïöüâêîôûæœ';

It doesn't print 'ÁÀÚÙÍÌÓÒÉÈÇÄËÏÖÜÂÊÎÔÛÆŒ' on my ActiveState Perl 5.6 equipped system ... so something is wrong.

Is ActiveState b0rking up? Is uc limited to [a-z]?
