The problem is how to break up your long running query into small enough chunks that your gui remains responsive. Once you've done that, you could just use a Tk-repeat().

The "good enough" maybe good enough for the now, and perfection maybe unobtainable, but that should not preclude us from striving for perfection, when time, circumstance or desire allow.
