That was a lie. Solving certain kinds of puzzles is my hobby and the kinds of programming I do in my professional work tends to be about solving those types of puzzles.

My criteria for good software:
  1. Does it work?
  2. Can someone else come in, make a change, and be reasonably certain no bugs were introduced?
