Fellow monks,
I want to pass find and replace regex strings to a s/// performed in a sub, like :
my ($find, $replace) = @_;
my $content =~ s{$find}{$replace}s;
This works as long as there's no captures in the $find string and $1... backreferences in the $replace string. --
Example:
$content =~ s/(^.*SignDataType="osv">).*((?=<\/FormSignData>).*$)/$1
+XXX$2/s;
will work as a substitute outside the sub, but calling the sub (patch) :
my $find = "(^.*SignDataType=\"osv\">).*((?=<\\/FormSignData>).*\$)
+";
my $replace = "\$1xxx\$2";
patch($find, $replace);
will yield:
$1xxx$2
ie the captures are not expanded in the replace string, as i want to... Is there a way (or possibly more...), that will allow me to do what i want to here ?
Best regards,
Allan Dystrup
