That's why I was thinking about trying to use TT in some fashion. That way, you have the same constructs from TT, but you do still have a separate template file for each output format.
My criteria for good software:
  1. Does it work?
  2. Can someone else come in, make a change, and be reasonably certain no bugs were introduced?
