I need to update a remote mysql database, and I can't do this with a direct connection because the calling system is on DHCP with the IP address changing periodically, so I can't set a consistent permit for host access.
I am therefore thinking about using a Perl-based user agent to send the updates via http, and a Perl-based CGI app on the receiving end to get them and stick them in the db.
Two questions
