I am VERY new to perl and have an ambitious undertaking. I'd like to parse the system log on a Windows 2000 server. I want to get all instances of printing toa specific printer port. I want to capture the user who sent the job and the pages printed. I can see all of this if I save the system log and then look at it as text. I just dont have the first clue how to get started writing this script. I see this info being dumped into a test file that management can then peruse and the abuse to appropriate user. Any ideas?
