PGE is the Perl Grammar Engine, but it's a Parrot distribution. It's meant to be usable in any language that runs on Parrot, not just Perl. In a way, it'll replace the pcre engine.
My criteria for good software:
  1. Does it work?
  2. Can someone else come in, make a change, and be reasonably certain no bugs were introduced?
