How would you make a REQUIRE'd script exit the script that's running it?

I wrote a script that, under certain conditions of the user's IP addresses and information of that nature, it's to kill the script.

The original script is too long for me to just include this other code, so I wrote it as another CGI and required it.

How can I make an exit() in the required script also exit in the main script? Would I have to check the return value? How could I do that?

Any possible way of calling this as a subroutine (from a separate file) and then manually check the returned results in the main script?
