We leave it that way with the hope that it will lead us to a false feeling of brilliance as we see the tally of votes for a poll we've contrived rise, presumably artificially high due to people who have discovered the flaw.

Or perhaps we (meaning I) haven't sifted through the polling code to detect this flaw in the first place. ...and for the reason I previously gave, combined with the fact that polls are really only for fun anyway, I'm not all that motivated to figure out what to do about it. ;)
