Hello Monks !
I a string that I read from an XML file (the first line)
It looks like this:
open (VERSION, "info.xml") || die ("Could not open file $!");
$text = <VERSION>;
close (VERSION);
Now, the string is:
<xml version= "24.0" IP="1.1.2.3" baseVersion="beta_3"
lastUpdate="22-Apr-06" >
I need to return the version number (i.e - 24)
only
Is there a simple way to do this ? or do I have to use the index,substr and other string functions ?
Thanks !
