The Google Summer of Code 2006 has been open for applicants since 1 May. In case you missed the announcement on use.perl you can still apply for a project sponsored by The Perl Foundation: some suggestions for suitable projects and other details can be found here. You probably also want to read The Student FAQ before applying.

We'd love to see loads more applications, but hurry because the application period will be ending sooner than you think.
