You cannot really blame everything on internet bubble. Java is still growing, so many years after the bubble was gone. Internet is still going, and more and more web pages are being added everyday, but Perl is no longer the way to go, for most of the people any way. Today, most people link Perl to the CGI era.

As for Perl 6, not much happened after so many years. I know that people are spending effort, but before harvest time, it means very little to the IT world.

To tell the truth, Perl 6 will be a failure anyway. Think about it, if one day 3 years from now, Perl 6 is released with a design dated many years back from today? Why should I believe that it will be a success?
