Thanks all..
print $result->errstr() worked. But the error thrown seems to be very cryptic..
Given below is the piece of code I am trying to execute..
my $manuf_name='Sony'; <br>
my $query = "select vendor_id from vendor where vendor_name=?";<br>
my $result=$dbh->prepare($query) or print "cannot prepare $query; <br>
$result->bind_param(1,$manuf_name) or print "error binding $manuf_name
+ to $query"; <br>
$result->{LongReadLen}=512*1024; <br>
$result->{LongTruncOk}=1; <br>
$result->execute() or print "Error while executing query --- $result->
+errstr()"; <br><br>
When we execute the above code we get the following error. But the statement only prints the memory address (I think so) of the variable "$result"
Error while executing query --- DBI::st=HASH(0x1a071f4)->errstr()
Any help.
Regards
