I found this site while I was browsing Digg today. There was this link to the Wyoming Medical Center using a Perl script to produce books for blind people.

You will need MP3::Info and a LAME encoder for tagging, but it's all GNU'd. Includes CVS as well.

Useless trivia: In the 2004 Las Vegas phone book there are approximately 28 pages of ads for massage, but almost 200 for lawyers.
