see the node created by iburerell with IDhttp://336137 for the node http://quotemeta and \% to insert perl code into database.Quote meta is nothing but,it is grouping the characters and digits A-Z,a-z,0-9and if any other than that comes between them,it will put an backslasb(\) for each every character in the word.

The below code how prints the output, print quotemeta("foo\"%!bar*sin");

Output:
foo\"\%\!bar\*sin
