You know what sucks even more than CPAN.pm? CPANPLUS.pm. Wow. I didn't keep a log of my installation like you did for CPAN.pm but it's way harder to get that beast going than the CPAN shell. What sucks even more is that I installed it to get the cpansmoke script and it turns out that it's been removed from CPANPLUS altogether. I think it's now called CPAN::YACSmoke.
