Honestly, that is what should be done--moving their data into a database. In fact, the file we receive is actually an extract from their database. At the moment I am supposed to understand the project and try to "improve" it before really improving it. The whole thing needs to be rewritten in my opinion, yet my time is limited.

Until I am able to spend time on this, it seems like the old method should stay in place?
