I have got a tremendous amount of data that I need to have accessible at my program's finger tips at any time while it is being used. An external database is out of the question. Speed is of utmost importance. I tried dumping the data to a file and parsing the file to redefine the variables at the next run time, however, this proved to be way too inefficient for my needs. For similar/the same reason(s), Data::Dumper will not do the job.
With speed being one of the most important factors, what do you suggest I do to handle this? Currently, the majority of the data is stored in hashes. My goals are to A) not use up all my RAM, and B) still remain fast. I understand that this is sort of a "pick one or the other" situation, but I am looking for a good "in between" on how to handle this.
Thanks for any help you could offer.
