I'm not sure why you state a 'tradition' as a reason for not adopting a technology. Traditionally people wrote programs on punch cards, and if that technology was still out you could traditionally lounge around in Bell Labs and have a blast with a traditional language like SNOBOL all night long. Traditions change, get up to do date, gramps.
Your whole argument revolves around old editors, which I appended to my rant in favor of tabs prior to its submission on perl monks. You brought nothing to the table in your response, and I would like to thank you for so aptly summarizing what the opposition has against tabs
