Just use a modern code-editor (such as Komodo) which can tabify or untabify your code at will and does a great job of aligning your opening and closing brackets in such a way that you get very neatly looking code irrespective of using tabs or spaces.

To me this discussion lokoslooks to be of the "what is the sex of an angel" kind.
