Wow. First of all, does this sound like an assignment to anybody else? Not saying it is, just saying it sounds (well, reads) like one. Secondly, asking for info regarding using perl in automation is like asking for information regarding using a Toyota for transportation; that's kinda what it's for. It does certain things exceptionally well, and other programming languages do some of the same things and also other things exceptionally well.
