You need to give better explainations of your problems than "But still failed!". Explain how you know it failed. What unexpected behaviour did you see? Did nothing happen? Did you get an error message? Was anything written to the web server error log? Did your computer burst into flames?

There are quite a few syntax errors in your code. You can see them by looking in your web server error log. Once you fix those, your code seems to work fine.

It's always a good idea to check syntax locally before trying to run your program under a web server. Perl's -c command line option is useful for this.
