In a nutshell, I am trying to handle some research projects that require a lot of "hand collection" of data. If I can't find ways to use technology to streamline them, it would take 100s of hours longer for sure. At the start of basically every page I retrieve I am getting this "ˇ˛" which seems to make the recovered pages totally unusable in anything like perl, more, grep and so on. I think this is unicode or something but I'm just learning PERL on the fly and don't have a strong background. If anyone can help please let me know. Anthony
