The ecommerce system that I work on is using Taxware to handle tax calculations. Taxware doesn't offer a Perl SDK, so this was implemented in an XS module using Taxware's C libraries. We're going through a rewrite and would like to consider alternatives.

We simply need to know what rate to charge our US customers in any state (my company has Nexus in all states). Taxware is a bit overkill (expensive!) and our implementation of it is particularly hairy.

What have other people used to handle calculating US sales tax in perl? I searched CPAN and didn't find much. Suggestions?
