Remember this post back in October: Perl doesn't get to compete? Of course, after the initial oversight, Perl was invited to compete.
The contest is currently underway with 3 teams each from 3 languages (Perl, PHP and Java). Despite the initial controversy over whether Perl would be included, the Perl teams are numbers 1, 2 and 5 -- apparently assigned in order of registration:
The competition has a live blog that will be updated by organizers and teams throughout the 30 hour competition. Teams may solicit feedback on their prototypes via the blog, so keep an eye out in case the Perl teams need quick user testing.
