hai monks, can anybody explain me what is eval in perl and how to use it so. just to learn pearl i tried almost all the function but i can't able to use this eval function in my code if i am using it for calculating two number it shows error. example 
$a=10;
$b=20;
$answer=($a*$b);
eval($answer);
