One minor nitpick to your excellent post (and yes, I know you're not expressing your own personal opinions but just reporting other people's, according to duff's request): the current mantra is that "nothing but perl can parse Perl." AIUI For Perl 6 plans are that it get upgraded to "nothing but Perl can parse Perl."
