I didn't write this script; but it came in very handy at the office recently. At the epsmerge page, the script is described as "a perl program for merging EPS (Encapsulated Postscript) files into one bigger EPS file." You can also use it to generate non-encapsulated PS for printing.

The documentation is good and I found the script to work as advertised on a Solaris box.
