I don't know that other module at all, but if you used Net::SMTP, then you should know precisely why it didn't work!! 

my $smtp = Net::SMTP->new($server, Hello=>"dude!", Timeout=>20, Debug=
+>1) or die;

# Debug makes Net::SMTP spew the session to your STDERR.
