Thank You got it working
I Trying to do a match on a array and put only the matching words into another array, This is working upto a point but i keep getting the whole vaule instead of only the lines it matches against.
see code below
The goal would be Print true $_ would print all matches
my $mail = '/usr/sbin/sendmail';
my $mminfo = '/usr/sbin/mminfo';
my $sysin = `/usr/bin/date \'+%m/%d%y\'`;
my @call =
`mminfo -r 'volume,state,written,%used,space,pool,location,ssinsert' -q 'ssinsert <= three week ago`;
foreach (@call) {
if ( @call =~ /Daily\S+\s/) {
print "Daily true $_ .\n";
}
else {
print "not found\n ";
}
}
The mminfo gives a huge list like
A00031 179 GB full DailySecOffSite 08/29/03
A00031 179 GB full DailySecOffSite 09/12/03
A00031 179 GB full MonthlySecOffSite 10/07/03
A00031 179 GB full MonthlyOffSite 08/29/03
So the goal was to seperate each set Daily and Monthly
