Good Day All – H-E-L-P! ! ! ! I’ve been tasked (another way of saying that I was the only one around at the time) to create a PERL script which basically does snmpget {hostname} .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2 (link number) which is provided by a trap sent to our friendly neighborhood Network Node Manager. The “get” command will translate the link number into an actual interface name. For some reason (because I suck), I cannot get this to work correctly. I’m having a real difficult time (a) extrapolating the link number fro the NNM trap and (b) forwarding the link number’s translated name to bigger and better things inside this nasty little Perl script of mine. Any suggestions???
