Hi guys,
My friend told me that i can find good answers here :)

Im not sure if this question if an easy one or not. here goes:

I want to make a pattern using the qr// function but i dont know how.

here is an example of the log file i want to work with:

081407 start up server 081407 -- fatal error in procedure 1 081407 -- disconnected user 081407 -- logging started 081407 -- not enough space

all i can come up is qr/--/ which will get all occurrences of "--" but i also want to ignore some lines with "--" like the lines "081407 -- logging started" and "081407 -- disconnected user" but i also want to get the last line which is "081407 -- not enough space" so in short i want to get:

081407 -- fatal error in procedure 1 081407 -- not enough space
and ignore:
081407 -- disconnected user 081407 -- logging started

does it make sense? im still getting used with perl. sorry
