the site is a mix of html and cgi. 2 users are permitted to view/execute everything whilst the others are only allowed to access files and click on links that activate cgi scripts which don't alter the database but just return html. i'm quite new to perl so the only idea i came up with was to have a table structure 
  

username     password         logged in

[download]
so that each page tests to see if one of the two users is logged in by searching the table and seeing if any of the rows has a logged in set to true???.are there programms available that do this which i can append to my site???
