I tried chomping then entry, but my list still prints in a sequential manner. Losing my mind :)

@fields = sort { $a cmp $b } split /\t/, $entry;
#@fields=split(/    /,$entry);
#chomp @fields; 

foreach $entry (@fields){
 $_ =~ s/\n/\,/;
}
