Insecure is the word, and you have showed everyone in this thread.
I apologize for calling you an idiot, although you did that first. By behaving the way that you behaved, I have lowered myself and embarrased everyone here.
Any way, for your benefit, I still recommend you to be more open to critiques, and be calm in facing disagreement. Reasoning not fighting. Show brain not fist. I order the same recommendation for your friend, sorry I cannot spell his screen name entirely, chro something.
After all, your initial post and its title are fundmantally flawed. If someone tells you not to write in perl when it should be, he is wrong; If someone tells you not to write in perl when it should not be, he is right. However you tried to one-side this two-sided argument, and intentionally confused yourself when unintentionally confused some others.
Now to further confuse you, if this does ;-): If someone tells you that something shouldn't be written in perl, you may still be able to complete the project in perl. However that does not mean that he is wrong, as a matter of fact, you might just created something sub-optimal.
