Hi,
With the nm command I also got the same display as on your system.
i.e
$ nm /usr/sfw/lib/libXrender.so | grep XRenderFindDisplay
27 | 2940| 84|FUNC |LOCL |0 |10 |XRenderFindDisp

I have xrender 0.8.3 installed on my system. Is is possible that these symbols are not present in this specific library or is it some problem with the sol 9 system?
