Often times I find myself stumbling upon an interesting node that's several months (or more) old. I'd like to offer my reply to these nodes, because they're interesting, but fear that there's no point doing so if noone will be reading these old nodes.

Perhaps Perl Monks could have a "Revisited Nodes" section, which will list nodes which are X months old but have recently had a reply to them. This way, rather than having to start a new root node on a topic that was already discussed, which loses all the interesting comments that were in the original thread, we could pick up where we left off.
