Why? This seems like a strange attitude to have, give that you start off the day by asking for another forum, because:
"I signed up to this forum and was overwhelmed with the response.

One reply in particular was a bit dis-heartning and I concluded that Perl Monks isn't for me."

Yet you failed to mention which post, even when asked, which I guess is up to you. This is followed by many people giving you helpful answers both in reply to your posts and to questions asked in the CB (of which the answer to three different questions was read (and obviously understand) perlop). However later in the CB you ask 'How do I delete my account', and now you tell us you have given up.

I am curious as to what your expectations are from an online forum. Today has proven that people here are more than willing to (repeatedly) give the advice, you seem reluctant to take it and learn from it.

In conclusion to repeat what many monks have been telling you all day, you have not upset anyone here, so far your contribution has been better than many, stick with it, read and understand the documentation, clearly explain your problems and read the PerlMonks FAQ and How do I post a question effectively?. With exception to the two nodes I just pointed out, none of this advice is related to Perl, you could just as easily take this advice and apply it to many things in life.

Thanks

Martin
