This node is the root node of a thread here on perlmonks...

Corion has some netiquette/perlmonks issues with the fact that further on in the thread I made a post, completely eliminating the original subject. He asked me not to do with this because it makes it hard to trace to root node of the thread. at least I think that's what he/she said

My feelings on this are:

  1. a system must be idiot-proof. what happens when someone else does this? Then you must private-msg that person as well... if you require the subject to not be edited, and only want elaborations of that subject, then dont allow it to be edited and only allow elaborations.
  2. actually, I dont even know what Corion is talking about ... if you look at the node where I erased the subject, you can see a link the root of the whole discussion.
I have erased our initial private-msgs about this topic, and might have Corion's intention wrong... so he(she?) and others please chime in on the issue of erasing the subject... it it poor netiquette to do this? how should this be prevented? etc.
