I've been here for a fairly long time, and one thing I don't think I have a handle on here is when to provide a solution, and when to provide a path to a solution.
Sometimes I think I have a fix on the Perlmonks' feeling on this, but then somebody will code and post a big solution when I thought "perldoc X" was coming, or vice versa.
So, I'm interested: What makes you decide, when you see a SoPW, between various levels of direct help and pointers to documentation/other nodes/CPAN/etc.?
