Actually I meant the kind of service monitoring you pay for, where something regularly pings your services and sends you a text message (or e-mail) when they look unhappy.
But that is, of course, a business model you can replicate with a Perl script, a few servers, and optionally an SMS gateway if you wish. Competition is good...
