What would CPAN supporters recommend as the server to install?

Don't bother installing your own SVN server - you can get that for free at a number of places. I've found Google Code to be easy, but there's also SourceForge.

Even simpler, does a guide or an FAQ exist on how to get started as a CPAN supporter?
