I shall re-ask the question without code then...

Surely one can ask a perl question without code, perhaps people will be less inclined to bitch about the code and mode inclined to answer the perl question then.

It's very frustrating when people are so ingratiated with a subject that they cannot answer a question but are more inclined to point out how badly you know the subject.
