Padre still has some issues with newlines in the files being edited. I would like to clean that up but I am not sure how to do that.

It seems that Scintilla the library used for the editor can handle this once the file is in memory in a correct way. The question how do I know what is the line ending in the given file and how do I make sure that the line endings are the same in the whole file?

I shopped around a bit and found the following modules:

but it seems none of them provides what I need - both finding out the current line endings (and report if they are inconsistent in a file) and convert them to one of the selected file endings.

So how shall I solve this?
